I thought 3rd position on a C harmonica was D
I do believe so as well. In my case I am looking for a 3rd position for scale G. So that would be reversed F. F in 3rd is G Dorian.
71 and still blowin it(pun intended)! It was John Mayall in ‘68 and forever since that has a me mostly a blues guy. We’ll miss you John! Started messing around with harmonica about 1972. Last 36 years driving a semi truck it gave me lots of company. Nah I’m not professional but listening to myself from videos taken, I’m pretty good I think. So I’m really happy to have found this forum and website. Neck cancer and dentures have given me new challenges. But I’m finding new ways to do things. I prefer the Hohner Crossover harps. I like the Special 20 and the Marine but prefer the Crossover. Would love to hear/read some comments/opinions about other brands. Tried Suzuki and liked it a lot but not a game changer. Sorry for long introduction but I’m so excited to finally have harmonica playing people I can associate with!!! Thx Luke and everyone!
Song G
1st position G
2nd position C
3rd position F
According to my Hohner chart.
Yes 3rd position goes into Dorian scale. As Liam Ward discusses in one of his vids
@sheryllnet - do you like your new harmonica? Has it been an improvement?
@pieter_heine - welcome to the forum! I’ve got an article on brands here: Which Harmonica to Buy? – The Best & Worst Harmonicas
@RedDwarf welcome to the forum. Excited to have you here as well. I grown to love the Marine Band Deluxe more that the Crossover. Check it out at Rockin’ Rons!
Hello my name is markus and i am from austria.
I play the harmonica just alittle but already bought 2 marine band deluxe in g and c, hohner blues harp ms in c, golden melody progressive in c and a chromatic east top forerunner 2.0 in c
Since today i am the owner of a bushman game changer in D in the richter tuning (jdr trochilus)
And it play so good at least as good if not better than my hohner marine band deluxe and they are already realy good!
But i have a problem: i want to learn the notes that are possible with the bushman but the note layout is writen in funny numbers with sometimes points on the top or the bottom and i dont know how to read that!?
Please can somebody give me a explanation on how to change that numbers to normal notes, so i can play real songs with it?
Ps here is the link to the diagram that i cant read:

I’m not that familiar with the game changer but it’s on my shopping list. But @Hogie.Harmonica I think has written a book on the subject. And in my opinion he’s brilliant at playing it. I play Diatonic and Chromatic but my Chromatic’s are solo tuned, I believe the game changer is like two Diatonics stuck together? I’m not entirely sure is tuned half a step or a whole step? Hogie would be the best guy to ask anyway he’s brilliant at this sort of stuff
@Eckus welcome to the forum. So glad to have you here! Can you please check out the existing thread on the GameChanger, and if your question hasn’t already been answered, post it there?
Thanks! So glad to have you here. And congrats on getting the Gamechanger!!!
