Show us Your Harps, Mics, & Amps!

@2046 thank you so much for your reply. OK, I’m interested in the Cherry Mouth, lol. Now, looking at your Etsy it looks like the harmonica is assembled (already has reeds inside of it.)

Or are you just selling wooden coverplates/comb and buyer has to assemble himself a Seydel harmonica purchased separately??

HI Luke
Just cover plates. That way people can enhance their own harmonica with their own tuning. It would be insane to deliver all the tuning in all the possible harmonica types even just form Seydel range. Although if you really want to get the whole harmonica assembled and do not mind to wait bit more, you can tell me what harmonica you want I can get it and assemble it all for you. The price will rise for the price of the harmonica you choose. But in general I think that the covers them self is better choice as you can just put them ot the harmonica you have, maybe more than one and find the right pair that suites your taste the most… well it is up to you indeed.
Looks like you really consider to get it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
Let me know before you hit the button. Might be useful for you to choose the finish. see the page where I try to explain pros and cons of the oil and acrylic finish.

In nutshell the oil finish is more beautiful but needs some care, the acrylic dampens the wood color potential but it does not need any special aftercare.
If I do not have your chosen combination “in stock” already I will make new one for you.

Aw man am I happy to be posting this! I just got my 7 new Joe Spiers harmonicas set up for overblown, all Parott-tuned, with custom Todd Parrott combs. These babies were NOT cheap, but for me worth every penny. Play / sound /feel / look AMAZING:

I AM A VERY HAPPY MAN!!!

Also, I should update the main bag I’ve been using for the last year on all my gigs is the one so generously gifted to me by Tetsuo Manchero from Tombo:

This thing is so awesome. Fits 18 harps which seems to work well for all my gigs, goes over the shoulder, looks attractive, has other pockets for other things (like car keys, dental floss, CBD oil, and a spare battery for my guitar ) The inside comes out:

If anybody wants one, Tetsuo said I can get for you for $100 + $20 shipping. Not cheap, but his bag is amazing. The insert fits perfectly on the Hercules shelf that I attach to my mic stand, which Jimmy Kednik turned me onto:

Also, FYI if you like the look of Todd Parrott’s combs, you can order a Crossover from him, and he’ll put the comb in it for you and the total is only $100 + shipping which is only like $20 more than a regular Crossover. For me it’s a no-brainer. I love the look and feel, and the fact that I can wash them under a faucet without any worry about swelling over time. If interested, just msg him on Facebook.

I bought 2 from him in 2023 like this which I asked him to country-tune for me (raise -5 a half-step) and super happy with the results.

For amplified stuff I’m continuing to use my Jason Ricci signature mic from Lonewolf Blues Co., into a Pedalboard that includes the Harp Attack pedal which I have always on, a few other of my guitar pedals ending with a stereo reverb pedal and I send one to my HOG20 amp and the other to my Blackheart 5W head into 4x4" Crate cab.

I continue to find that one small amp doesn’t quite cut through the mix the way I need it to, but 2 small amps gets the job done, and it’s an easier schlep than one big amp.

That’s my 2024 gear update!

I bought the deluxe first (Cheap) to see if I’d like adding harmonica to my repertoire… after choosing to stick with it I bought the hohner sp20 and the deville… I think I may up my game soon to the hohner crossover.

I will be adding a new guitar and amp this year as well as a hand free harmonica kit of sorts.

I had two of my mics stolen, so I only have a couple of standard sure, I have a ton of harps. But just a handful I use, the rest I experiment on

Damn, did you lose your Silverfish? I had 3 harps stolen from my car recently (ask my wife how it was left unlocked), an Arkia Signature, a Hohner Rocket and a Seydell Session Steel Summer edition, all in all sbout £250 worth. I live in a good neighbourhood but about a mile away on the main road there are a couple of hostels for homeless and people with drink/drug issues. They frequently try car doors to see what they can steal. The frustrating thing is I doubt the person who took them really wanted to play harp (if he did he is welcome to them). He probably took them to see whether he could get enough for them to buy a bottle of cider and when he realised no-one wanted them he would have thrown them in a hedge somewhere.

I used to drink in a great music pub, but after covid it began to struggle so much so dodgy people started to come in. In fact I actually kicked 3 different ones out on 3 separate occasions mostly for acting creepy towards the women in the pub. I was playing there one night, I had a shaker, a Hohner blues blaster and a green Bullet, I couldn’t fit them in my gig bag with my harps they were in a smaller cloth bag anyway one night after I’d played they disappeared, they couldn’t sneak the gig bag out without drawing attention but the mics they could. Anyway the upshot of all this is my wife is going to buy me a proper bag for Christmas with enough room for my harps, my Lucky 13’s and my chromatics it will also house my Silverfish quite comfortably. We now go to much nicer places with nicer people

Cool, I think I have had this 15 years or so . I had a Mesa Boogie Recto-Verb 50 that was so heavy and just too powerful . When I saw this one it was perfect for me . Take care Sir

It does a nice imitation of a Fender bassman that’s why I like it

I agree , you can get a great acoustic or dirty tone . And it has a boast , reverb speed and strength knobs . With headphone , ext speakers, and line out also . I think if I remember back in the day it cost $ 100.00 ha ha . I have no idea what it sells for today ? . I am using it with the bend it better tool , with a clean acoustic tone for practice . I also use it with my Gibson Lucille , and G&L Legacy Special and it kicks ass IMHO !

Silverfish works great with it, I was initially worried about feedback especially as I go cable free but I have to be honest the way the mic is constructed I think it works great at reducing feedback once you adjust the volume and drop the gain a bit your pretty good to go. I’ve kept my switches exactly on the sweet spot where I want them. Depending on the size of place I might play I can always get someone to gradually up the gain while I stand away from it.

Ha ha ha I just accidentally plugged my bullet mic into the 1/4 “ foot switch plug on the control panel. Spent 15 minutes trying to make things work ?? And was about to accuse my wife of breaking my green bullet by dropping it and not telling me . Dodging a real bullet , priceless ha ha ha .

Ahh you need to watch that, I never blame my misses for anything unless I have at least 5 witnesses and each of them must be a judge, a priest, a Lawyer, a nun, and a high ranking official from the UN. Otherwise she has no case to answer. I’d rather walk barefoot across a minefield.

If I have time today I’m going to go to check out the fender Acoustasonic 40 and a fishman Loudbox Micro. Will see if I like how they sound with harmonica.
