Well, I got a C harp and a D Harp, today I played note for note “On the road again” by Canned Heat something I’ve always wanted to play, It’s actually amazing how much is in there That I never noticed before. But it’s now very close, I’ve got that high note in the solo bang on now. But I can Thoroughly recommend Wilde Tunings it just gives you options.

Is that similar to the canned heat version?

I’d love to hear it too @Dk360. I tried a search, but failed to find it. Can you share where you found it?

@Andy2 @DavidW

Bluedoze Blues - I think I mixed up song names!

Yeah, this is going up country, that’s the thing with canned heat they were authentic they raided old blues back catalogs because they loved that music. Along with Paul Butterfield two of the greatest white acts. I prefer these over the British Blues boom bands any day, they did their own thing whilst retaining the honesty of the songs. I’m a big fan of Early Blues and I have a couple of Henry Thomas albums

I remember a fantastic period of discovery that was almost archiological when i was in my early teens of going deep into my dads collections of LPs from 70s rock backwards through folk revial stuff all the way to blues through Elmore James and on to stuff like Big Bill Broonzey and Blind Lemon Jefferson and Lead Belly

@roodoginsumner Sick box! Yeah, GORGEOUS combs!
@DavidW yeah Howard would be good if he just practiced more. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: JK. Yeah @Dk360 for sharing that! AMAZING 1st position blues playing. I’ve always been floored by his Slow Blues in C, but I like this one in G even better! Still, check out the C blues if you haven’t:

At what point does this start to be called “a problem”? :slight_smile:

@szymon I’ll let you know when I get there. I have over 100, and it’s not a problem yet…:wink:

Hah, I can totally see how that could happen! I think I have my set for now though – Lee Oskars in C D A G Bb LowF Am Gm

I’m now going to force myself to not buy any more until I feel like I’ve learned enough to have earned them!

Interestingly, the Bb has very quickly become my favourite harp: the range feels awesome, it’s somehow easier to bend than a C, the top end is not quite so shrill…I don’t know, there’s just something about it that works for me. Now I just have to convince everyone to play songs in Bb or F :wink:

Just inherited a late 80’s amp-!
Will get an inexpensive superlux d112, and play my ‘all most blues scale’-!

That made me nostalgic for my first ever guitar amp, a Peavey “Rage” 158.
The Superlux mic is worth it’s price, I got one and it works fine, has a volume control and a decently long lead, although the lead is hard wired into the mic.

Apparently the formula for the right amount of Harmonicas to have is
Y=X+2
Y=Harps you need
X=Harps you have
Why is it +2? because you’ll need it in at least 2 keys.
